Summer Sailing

2010

After another successful Pilot Cutter Championship with the newly rebuilt Cornubia, formally Herta, coming in first with us hard on her heels, we took Agnes, in the company of Hesper, to the Channel Islands and along the Brittany coast. In St Malo we met up with Amelie Rose. Tallulah was also in the Channel Isles but didn't manage to make it to St Malo due to some engine trouble. Ezra and Lizzie May had a good time sailing together around Arisaig, Scotland with what has now become a sizable Scottish Gaffer Fleet.

2009

Well here we are in winter again. Last summer's sailing seems so far away, but I should recap. All the boats were out and about- three in Scotland, Lizzie May, Ezra and Hesper. Poor Hesper spent most of August hove-too off various Scottish Isles in screaming winds, before running back south. How Ezra up in the Isle of Skye keeps working through it I will never know. The rest were in calmer waters on the south coast. Tallulah cruising the Solent; Eve and Agnes in the Isles of Scilly; and Amelie Rose rushing between the two! Nick Beck did well sailing Amelie in the Pilot Cutter Championship last June when she was the first boat home on the Sunday. Congratulations to the new boy on the block- it just shows that with the right gear you can do anything!
