Our latest vessel now under construction is the 44' Amelie Rose, due to be launched in May 2009. Her construction is of sawn oak frames, oak topside planking, larch below, bronze and copper fastened throughout.

Her design is sister to Ezra, which has proven to be a very sound seaworthy vessel, working hard in the tough waters of Scotland. She has an old fashioned look, with her lute stern. This type of hull shape fell out of fashion back in the mid 19th century, but the two vessels of this type we have built, that are already sailing, have proven excellent sea boats. I can personally vouch for Agnes, the first of this design. As I have fought mountainous mid Atlantic storms in her, she looked after her crew admirably. I would take her any where.

Amelie Rose, on deck is traditional as ever, with tiller thwart and barrel windlass. Below she will be set out with a large saloon and sleep 9. Destined for a life chartering out of Poole in Dorset on the south coast of England. Her cruising ground will be from the Solent to the Channel isles and Normandy.

She will be run by Topsail Adventures, you can follow her build by going to www.topsail-adventures.co.uk
